Craig Noakes the owner and proprietor of Noakes Canvas is originally from Windsor, Ontario. He grew up on the Great Lakes primarily sailing his fathers C&C 35 Ruffian, and later his own Shark 24 as well as many dinghies. He spent many Summers teaching and running the local sailing school where he learned a lot about boat maintenance. His interest in marine canvas came after spending 10 years in the sailmaking industry, and noticing some opportunity in the canvas market.
Craig’s sailmaking experience has given him the skill and knowledge to manufacture quality products, his attention to detail results in the perfect addition to your boat. Craig has been working in the Halifax area for the past 8 years.
Craig has also spent a lot of time in the sailing community competing in local, national and international events. Highlights include an Olympic campaign in the 470 class, representing Canada in the Snipe class at the 2007 Pan Am Games (with his wife Heather), and more recently winning the Farr 30 class at Key West Race Week 2011 on Barking Mad. He has competed in three Marblehead to Halifax races and number of other regattas in the Halifax area.
